FAQs

Are lab diamonds and mineral diamonds both available?

Yes! We can make rings with lab diamonds or mineral diamonds. We can source many, many different diamonds, but we would recommend staying in the colorless category (color D, E, or F), a clarity of VS2 or higher, and an Excellent cut or higher for either lab diamonds or mineral diamonds.

We can make rings with almost any metal, including 14K white, yellow, and rose gold, 18K white, yellow, and rose gold, platinum, and sterling silver, however, we don’t really recommend that engagement rings and wedding bands be made with sterling silver due to the fact that sterling silver can tarnish and may need to be polished more frequently than some of the other metals that were listed.

Yes, absolutely! As long as it is physically possible, we can make rings with almost any design. Please call us at (443) 213-0928 or email us at hello@IggyNorth.com to start the process of designing a custom ring or rings!

There is no deposit required to talk to us about your ring design and to receive a quote, but if you decide to move forward with a quote, then a 50% deposit would be required for us to start working on the 3D CAD for the ring design, and the first version of the CAD is typically ready within about 1 to 2 weeks. After that, 2 free modifications to the 3D CAD design will be included in the price, and after that each additional modification to the CAD will be an additional $30 only because of how labor-intensive making custom 3D CAD designs can be, however, we have found that most ring designs are finalized within 1 or 2 versions of the 3D CAD. Once the 3D CAD design is approved, then it would take about 2 to 3 more weeks for the ring to be ready to pick up, and the balance would be due when the ring is picked up. So overall, it typically takes about 4 to 5 weeks for a ring to be completed after a 50% deposit for the ring is paid, however, if it is preferred that a ring is completed sooner, then we can try to complete the ring within 2 to 3 weeks, as well.

Yes, absolutely! We have a very robust custom ring design process, so we can engrave text in almost any font, and we can even engrave handwriting if that is what someone preferred. We can also try to engrave small pictures if they would fit on the ring.
